The Daystar Difference
Daystar respects Chinese schools and international schools. Daystar students come from both types of schools and generally graduate to international schools. From a Chinese school perspective, Daystar adds English and critical thinking. From an international school perspective, Daystar produces students who understand and respect local Chinese culture.
With
Daystar's day of half Chinese and half English, we are different than
a school that spends its entire day in just one language. Yet, we
believe that Daystar's combination of the two programs create a
result greater than the sum of its parts. Naturally, much depends on
how long the student stays in Daystar and the student's native language. Daystar's
teachers will work with parents to assess likely outcomes and to
suggest additional study that might be required for a smooth
transition to middle school. While transitioning into any program
takes some time, we have seen that Daystar students successfully
transition to international schools. Daystar is ideally suited for parents who want a child comfortable in both
cultures.
Success is more than just the accumulation of knowledge. Good character and the ability to relate to others is even more important to a child's future happiness and success. All schools believe this, but Daystar does this in an environment where Chinese and Western cultures are appreciated equally. We strive to make all of our students good citizens of both China and the West.
What people have to say.......
"Let me commend you and Dawn for such a wonderful school, it is truly a gem. I have now visited over 10 schools in the last two weeks, half of them here (Beijing) and half in Singapore and over 20 schools from all our moving, I must say I am deeply impressed with your school."
