Family Participation
The participation of the family is crucial to maximize a student's outcome at Daystar.  With our students completing over 85% of two full curricula, we encourage and require extra support from teachers, administrators and parents. We believe that the field of education is ever advancing therefore, feedback from parents, students and educators provide ideas for consultation and advancement of our program.

How to get involved at Daystar

• Become a StarParent.  Every month Daystar hosts a parent social morning and a cooking class through our StarParents. To get involved contact Helen Wen wenbeijing@yahoo.com
• Sign up to assist in our After School Activities Programs by sharing your skill or talent with students contact yukiy@daystarchina.cn
• Volunteer your time for a special project at Daystar contact taniaj@daystarchina.cn

How to help at home

• Read every day at home with your child in their native language  
• Stay involved in your child's learning process and maintain openness with teachers about expectations.
• Maintain support at home for your child's English and Chinese homework.
• Sign up for a character education class or a Montessori training class at Daystar so you are more informed about your child's education and you can work in tandem with teachers.
• Remember that no child is perfect and all of them will make mistakes.  This is part of the process for them to learn and to grow.
